TRAVEL: EASTERN EUROPE 10 DAYS 9 NIGHTS - SPENT ONLY $2700 (SGD ALL IN) - Part 2

Continue from my first Eastern Europe trip, I have gathered much positive responses and thank you all so much friends!! you guys are my fuel to keep this on!

So...I'm at Vienna and ready to burn the town!

Our first place of visiting will be the Vienna City Centre where the Vienna State Opera located. With the building dated back from the mid 1800s. At this place, you'll be approached not one or two but lots of guys who wears the opera style clothing asking if you wanna buy ticket to the opera. It is not cheap! We aren't born with music gene and we didn't accept any offer. But these people can be annoying as they keep stopping you from moving ahead...

It was a quick spot for us to stroll as we are running out of time as all shopping are closed on Sunday. Except some eateries, everything else are closed - please TAKE NOTE! As food in the eateries aren't cheap and we have kitchen to utilise, why not we cook at home right?! It is cheaper and we can control how much we wanna put into the pots, pans and our mouth.

Just within walking distance, you will reach to St Stephen’s Cathedral where your jaw will drop, roll and keep rolling...(if you're architecture whore)... As for me, I'm simply blown away by the texture, the design, the colours of the building...it is simply just magical in my eyes...

FYI, this church is well known for their rooftops! From far, it looks like wavy iridescent / unicorn skin...

Let's take a look how the interior be like shall we?

After setting foot to both iconic building, we make our way to nearest grocery store to grab our dinner... As I've mentioned earlier, there won't be much shop open on Sunday and with Lord's grace, Billa is opened and closing soon... (anyway, to check out what we had when I said we cook at home / AirBnB, please head over my Instagram and check out my Getaway stories)

After a good night rest, we are ready to visit Bratislava, a small town about an hour away from Vienna. Anyway, If you're not all about slow-paced stroll, life, old town, empty street person, this trip isn't for you...

As we are heading to interchange, we stop over Belvedere Palace for a quick tour since we saw many express bus and tourist from other countries making their way towards this palace...

An hour later, we reached to Bratislava, quiet and not much crowds... Well, we don't expect much to offer here, but there are something you can look forward to if you do plan to visit, like strolling the Kapitulska Street, wander the Old Town and their Michael’s Gate...

If you must know, prepare a stick off lip balm...my lips start cracking and it is as rough as tar road surface...the reddish lip you see below is not on any lipstick! That burning sensation on my lips is from the dryness and dehydration...

A day just gone by and we gonna spend another hour on the bus back to Vienna and get ready for our most awaited trip...to Hallstatt! Known as "Arendelle" because the whole township is almost like the one we saw in the Frozen!

Hallstatt - Austria (Day Trip)

From Vienna, it takes about 4 hours of train ride to reach Hallstatt. But please prepare, it can get a little confusing on how to get here...we almost lost our way during our return! There's a stop over at a train station to change to another train I don't understand German (do your own homework)...so I can't recall what station is that and there's too much to remember...

Well...too much of concrete yeah? Let's see some snow-capped mountains, still lake and wooden houses!

Depending on which month you plan to visit Hallstatt, you'll have handful of different experience visiting this small town. As for us, we visiting on early March and that's late winter, we actually expecting drizzle, snow shower and nothing but just chilled weather...

Journey to Hallstatt can be really rewarding to all age as it gives you the peacefulness, serenity, captivating and relaxing... you see why, you have been in the city, you grew up there, rat racing start from the moment you step in pre-school then only slow down when you're near retirement age...what else? Slow down, stop and take a deep breathe people! Hallstatt is damn WORTH IT!

The lake, mountain, snows, little population, greenery and I strongly believe that the landed houses are built with fire place?

The first view of how the whole town looks like from the train station. You can walk from end to end within 15 minutes and you don't need to spend too much time at this town. Just spend a little on souvenirs, food, drink and more time for the scenery! Let's follow me to this little magical town...via ferry ride that take about 10 minutes...

The fresh water came from the ground, the mountain behind bears salt...This stretch of shophouse looks like gingerbread, Christmas-y and happy if you wanna compare to...Singapore? Forget it...

This is on the menu and they said this is their local delicacy lol... Some pork knuckle, with hard skin "bread" and that yellow sachets taste like wasabi... A set of this comes with a glass of local brew beer...I think I had 3 glasses of the beer...

We did not visit the salt mine, we did not visit any museum but we just wandering around the town,  hop from shop to shop, take photos and buy some salt...

TAKE NOTE: Hallstatt's salt came with lots of flavours...there's spicy, natural, pepper (trust me...don't fall into their gimmicks as my housemate bought the spicy one, it is just salty...) Anyway, you want then you buy, its cheap anyway...We spent about 4 hours here and spent another 4 hours on train back to Vienna...

Tomorrow we gonna check out Vienna and head over Prague...the city of a guy giving money to another guy...Opps...

To read more about Prague, check out my third blog post and I'll combine with Paris, the city of love - or not really about love anymore...You will know why soon enough!

Till then!
